Tracking continuity of essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic

View findings from the second round of the National pulse survey on continuity of essential health services during the COVID-19, which took place during January-March 2021 in the Tracking continuity of essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic dashboard and summary global report.

This pulse survey aims to rapidly assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on health systems and essential health services throughout the course of the pandemic. It provides immediate insight from country key informants into the current country experience and the extent of disruptions across the health system. By providing a rapid snapshot of the situation, decision-makers can systematically take stock of current challenges in service delivery and utilization to inform priority needs and investments as the pandemic progresses through its various stages.

The second round followed up the first round of WHO 2020 pulse surveys on disruptions to essential health services, including a comprehensive survey on essential health services, as well as targeted surveys on disruptions to noncommunicable diseases, immunization, and mental, neurological and substance use disorders.
